Cobalt Audio was founded by visual artist, photographer, and audio designer Michael Allen.
More than two decades of professional photography—including portraits of entrepreneurs and individuals—have shaped his sensitivity to personality and individuality. His work as an abstract painter informs an eye for texture, form, and material.
A lifelong engagement with music and audio brings another dimension: how sound can communicate with immediacy, expression, and emotion.
Cobalt is where those pursuits meet. A personal approach that considers what we hear, what we see, and ultimately what we feel.
Engineering

High-efficiency drivers, full-range reproduction, horn and waveguide integration, and carefully developed bass systems are part of Cobalt’s design exploration.
They serve a simple purpose: a coherent, expressive connection to music. Technology supports the experience. It doesn’t need to stand in front of it.
